The Oregon Trail! No, not really, but if you are a fan of video gaming and pop culture, you know I’m talking about—heading out to the Pacific Northwest. Portland, Oregon to be exact! Known for its copious green spaces and meshing of cultures and arts, it’s no wonder this city is so laid back. The Washington Park’s International Rose Test Garden and Lan Su Garden are a visual feast!
With more than 610 different rose varieties, the International Rose Test Garden is open daily from May to October. This attraction is a testing ground for new rose varieties.
Roses not your thing? How about a tranquil oasis where culture and botanical beauty is celebrated? Lan Su Garden is more than just a garden; It is also a glimpse at Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.
Looking for an experience that is intrinsic to Portland but with a little thrill? You’re in for a treat with the Portland Aerial Tram. Spanning 3330 feet, this 10-minute ride boasts spectacular views of the Willamette River and Valley, Mount Saints Helens, and Marquam Hill. And while you’re there, be sure to check out the South Waterfront, home to quaint shopping and eats.
