What Do I do with a ZIP File?!?
A file with the ZIP file extension is a ZIP Compressed file and is the most widely used archive format you’ll run into. A ZIP file, like other archive file formats, is simply a collection of one or more files and/or folders but is compressed into a single file for easy transportation and compression.
How do I unzip a ZIP file?
In most cases, your computer is already set up to unzip a ZIP file (just double-click on the downloaded ZIP file), and once unzipped, you may save the files anywhere you wish (you can usually drag and drop them to any location). If your computer isn’t already set up to unzip ZIP files, there are many free software options (search online for the latest and greatest free options) you may install in order to unzip the file. Because every computer is different, and organizations have different policies and protocols, check with your IT support on how best to proceed with unzipping the file.
