50 years later, we have much to celebrate with Title IX…but we still have a lot of work to support ongoing efforts for strong Title IX protections and enforcement.

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”June 23, 2022, will mark the 50th anniversary of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. In honor of the anniversary of Title IX, the National Women’s Law Center, Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative, and Women’s Sports Foundation have launched the Demand IX campaign. It is a collaborative effort to promote positive system and cultural change, in support of ongoing efforts for strong Title IX protections and enforcement.

Of special note is that Title IX provides protections for students who are pregnant or parenting. If you want to spread the word about these protections, we invite you to use the resources from our Protect Your Rights materials, including two infographics, a poster, a wallet card, and a complete packaged social media campaign.
